The West Michigan chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, the country's largest national association of public relations professionals, is comprised of more than 100 PRSA members living within the western half of the lower peninsula of Michigan, from Benton Harbor to Traverse City.

 

Our mission is to help public relations professionals develop and sustain the essential knowledge, skills and standards which will reinforce their integral role in the effective management of organizations.

Have you ever wanted to run a new PR idea by someone you could trust, before presenting it to your management team? Do you have a solid public relations plan in place but want to make sure you're up-to-date on new crisis communications techniques? Are you new to West Michigan, and starting to build your network of professional contacts?

If so, you could benefit from the resources available from the West Michigan Chapter of PRSA. Here in West Michigan, you can find a fun and cost-effective way to expand your PR knowledge and your circle of local business contacts. From Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Benton Harbor, to Holland, Muskegon, Manistee and Traverse City, we're offering services and organizing events to help you get the most out of PRSA. PRSA will include a $50 local chapter fee that goes directly to WMPRSA when you sign up for membership.

To sign up, fill out a membership form (PRSSA Students/PRSSA Graduates may use the PRSSA Associate Member Application) and send it with payment information for dues (see below) to:

Membership Dues

FULL MEMBER (M): $290 ($65 Initiation Fee and $225 Annual Dues)

ASSOCIATE: No Initiation Fee, Annual Dues as follows:*

Less than 1 year experience (AM1): $115
Less than 2 years experience (AM2): $155
Graduate Students (AMGS): $60
PRSSA Graduates (AMPG): $60

* After two years, Associate members will be upgraded to Full members and will be required to pay the initiation fee.

REINSTATEMENT OF MEMBERSHIP: $260 ($35 Reinstatement Fee and $225 Dues)

WMPRSA local chapter dues are $55 per year.

Section Dues

Professional Interest Sections are designed to focus on important public relations issues, trends and research in a specific area of practice. In addition to the benefits of regular membership, Professional Interest Sections strenghten your expertise (and marketability) through seminars, workshops, conferences, newsletters, professional papers, listservs, websites, and more - all focused on your unique environment. All Special Interest Section dues are $60 per year.
