"Beyond Resilience: Mental Health Strategies for Soaring in a Stress-Filled Life," features Leslie Hansen from Directions Counseling & Coaching. It is designed to address the significant prevalence of stress among PR professionals, with a particular focus on the unique challenges introduced by remote work environments. The session will provide a clear understanding of both stress and resilience, outlining their definitions and exploring common causes and triggers of stress in professional settings.

Leslie will cover the following agenda which includes emphasis on self-care:

  • Understanding stress and resiliency

  • What exacerbates stress

  • What makes a person resilient

  • How to live a resilient lifestyle

Additionally, the program highlights how reflecting on personal values can serve as a powerful guide for achieving professional and personal goals. This event aims to equip PR professionals with actionable strategies to manage stress effectively and foster greater well-being.

Leslie Hansen MA, LPCC-S
Clinical Director, Directions Counseling & Coaching

Leslie Hansen is a licensed clinical counselor-supervisor and seasoned communicator with a unique background bridging the fields of public relations and mental health. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Communication in 1991, Leslie spent over a decade working in PR, marketing, and the nonprofit sector. During that time, she herself was an active member of PRSA in Columbus, Ohio.

In 2003, she shifted her focus to the field of counseling, earning a master's degree in clinical counseling. She served as the Director of Central College Christian Counseling in central Ohio from 2006 to 2013 where she worked with children and adults. Since then, she has served as the Clinical Director at Directions Counseling and Coaching in Powell, Ohio. There, she helps to grow a thriving clinical practice of 25 therapists and coaches while counseling approximately 20 clients per week.

Leslie specializes in marriage counseling, trauma recovery, and ADHD therapy. Her passion extends beyond the therapy room—she frequently speaks at schools, businesses, and community organizations, equipping audiences with practical tools for self-care, mindfulness, and personal growth.
